Prayer and Fasting 2016

For the past several weeks we have been working on a number of items to prepare for this New Year. We are calling it 2016: THE YEAR OF HOPE. I also have been praying for you daily as we have been teaching about becoming mature disciples of Jesus Christ. We are in a place where we can thank God for the amazing things He has done right here at SRBC in the year 2015 and we are looking forward to 2016.

I feel that God has been preparing us for something amazing in the year 2016. I also know that being prepared for what God will do is essential for us as a church family. As we enter into a time of preparation for this New Year I ask that you take full advantage of our 21 days of prayer and fasting.

We serve a very mighty and great God. And I can’t fully imagine what God could or would do in and through HIs body of believers here at SRBC if we truly commit our hearts, mind, and strength for His purpose and His kingdom. I believe SRBC has been called into action to spread the gospel of Christ Jesus, by making disciples – equipping disciples – uniting believers – uniting churches – and reaching around the globe for His mission. I am ready for God to transform each of us and SRBC.

With love and blessings,
Pastor Tim

Praying as we Fast 2016

We invite everyone to partner with us in prayer in the following areas:

  1. To draw nearer to God
Seek that you may draw closer to God than ever before in your personal life, home, marriage, finances, and family.
  2. For God’s leadership in SRBC
Pray that God would lead SRBC in the following areas: the pastors and lay leaders, preaching, finances, deacons, fellowship, worship, food pantry ministry, teaching adults, young adults, youth, and children.
  3. Spiritual Awakening in our Communities
Pray that we take advantage of opportunities to create ministry which will focus on Christ in our communities.
  4. To be the church that lives out the Great Commission
Pray that God will instill in the members of SRBC the desire to become missionaries in our everyday lives; not just by word, but how we live out our faith each day.Helping others find their way back to God, growing the kingdom of God and discipling those coming to know God is the greatest commission for all disciples. Pray that we will live the GO-MAKE-BAPTIZE-TEACH model that Jesus gave us in Matthew 28:19-20. Pray for Pastor Tim and Gayle who will be making disciples in Soroti, Uganda, from January 25 to February 6.
  5. For SRBC to focus on the central teachings of Christ
Pray that we will continue to focus on the fundamental teaching of Christ. The fellowship of believers devoted themselves to these central teachings: “to the apostles’ teaching, to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayers.” (Acts 2:42)
  6. Church Growth and Baptisms
Pray that God will add families with young children to propel our children’s ministries and youth ministries. Also pray for a church growth rate of over 75% in 2016. Pray for God to draw people of all ethnicities and nationalities to find the gift of salvation and to become baptized here at SRBC and beyond. Pray that by year’s end we can say, “every day the Lord added to them those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:47)
  7. Church Expansion
Pray that God will give us the opportunity to create a second service and for a church who may possibly be considering closing to merge with us, and/or opportunities to plant or begin new work (i.e. Bible studies or new service(s) at a different location).
